The Faculty of Sport Sciences at Afyon Kocatepe University, with its modern facilities and distinguished academic staff, provides you with the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. In this context, our aim is to train individuals who can compete with national and international universities, produce universal knowledge, think freely, are self-confident, healthy, possess a high quality of life, are responsible, serve the field of sport sciences and performance sports, have strong professional competencies, are eager to learn and conduct research, and embrace national and moral values.
Dear students, from the moment you step into our faculty, you will be educated, supported by our administrative staff and enriched with new knowledge through the exceptional efforts of our esteemed academic team, preparing you for the future. Upon completing your four-year education, our students who graduate from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching become eligible to work as teachers in both public and private sectors. Graduates of the Coaching Education Department can work as coaches in public institutions, the private sector, and sports clubs. Graduates of the Recreation Department can serve as recreation specialists in local administrations, industrial institutions, and the tourism sector. Additionally, you may pursue our postgraduate programs within the Faculty of Sport Sciences and transition to an academic career.
Students enrolled in the Coaching Education and Recreation departments may also become Physical Education Teachers upon completing the pedagogical formation program.
Provided that our students meet the success criteria and other requirements, they may transfer between departments or benefit from the double major program, enabling them to graduate from two different fields. Our faculty also participates in Erasmus and Mevlana exchange programs, offering student mobility opportunities with many countries.
In Afyonkarahisar—located at the crossroads of major routes and known as the capital of thermal tourism—you will find numerous clubs, hotels, and various institutions where you can gain practical experience related to your profession throughout your student life.
